The Gospel

Hello My Friend,

Would you please give me a second to share something really quick? Thank you…

You see, our life here on earth is shorter than we tend or like to think. Like a conveyer belt it keeps running and in a way recycling “everything that has breath” through its apparently cruel cog called death. All humans of all ages must at one point transit through it into eternity.

If the YOLO slogan were ever true, it is truly so in the sense that “it is appointed for all men to live once, and after that comes judgement.” Hebrews 9:27

In short, once your heart stops beating here on earth, there is no Ctrl+Z. You either pass on into the eternal presence of God almighty (YHWH) or eternal separation from Him.

Well, you just read the word judgement right there. Judgement? Yes!

By who?

Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God, who was born here on earth, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died to bear the sins of many; and resurrected.

Why Judgement?

First, to ultimately save those who believed in Him and trusted him for the forgiveness of their sin(s) and for eternal life. Second, to condemn those who rejected Him.

John 3:18: Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only son of God.

But what have I done, I’m a good person-at least I try, so why would God condemn me?

Are you sure, you are a “good person”? Well, I have news for you. Sorry, not I, but God does. Here it is:

Romans 3: 10-12: As it written, No one is righteous, no not one; No one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.

So, now it’s your word against God’s: If you are truly as “good” as you think, at least your fair judgement as a ‘good person’ should help you know that the all-knowing and perfect God is better placed to weigh your moral soundness: And His word that you’ve read in Romans 3 is exactly what He thinks of you.

In short, the Bible says God is Holy and as such hates and punishes sin. Unfortunately, all humans are not holy because from the time of our birth we have a sinful nature. This sinful nature sets us against God as his enemies (Romans 5:10) and sets us up as perfect candidates for his wrath which he will fully unleash on the day of eternal judgment upon Satan, his demons and those who rejected His son Jesus Christ.

But how was I born with a sinful nature?

Now I see you are starting to get the point that every baby, cute as it is, is sinful at heart.

Here’s what Romans 5:12: “… Sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.”

You must have heard about Adam and Eve, right? Yeah, the story is true, they disobeyed God and by so doing brought sin and its many consequences into the world; “sin came into the world through one man [See previous scripture]”

Just to make it clear, Romans 5:19 says; “For by one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners…”

So, what, Jimmy?

Eternal condemnation and punishment await those who dare die in that sinful nature they were born.

What should I do to survive this?

Well, you don’t have to do anything. God already did the needful: For God so loved the world that He gave his only son [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

It adds in verse 18 that whoever believes in Him [Jesus Christ] is not condemned, but whoever does not is already condemned.

God showed his love through giving up his son Jesus to die for the sins of those who would believe in Him, and by so doing taking away their guilt as his own; granting them peace with God and reuniting them to Him.

But even more exciting, the sacrifice of Jesus secures eternal salvation and unending life in the presence of God, for those who believe in Him.

Romans 5 says, while we were still helpless and hopeless sinners, Jesus Christ died to save us from the wrath of God.

So, I don’t have to do anything, at all?

Well, if you insist, here is (not what you should do) but what must happen, you must be born again. Believe in Jesus Christ as the only one by whom you can be saved. Acts 4:12; “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must save.”

If you believe in Jesus TODAY, RIGHT NOW, you will receive forgiveness of your sins TODAY and NOW; and also obtain the priceless privilege of becoming a child of God (John 1:12).

Now, don’t harden your heart any longer, my friend. Don’t wait for tomorrow for it is not a promise. Remember, the ‘conveyer belt’ keeps moving, and we don’t know who is next in line…

P.s “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God,” Hebrews 10:31.
